Toronto Running Chiro

Yesterday I spent the afternoon with my dad.  My dad is awesome!!  Unfortunately for him he is a victim of dementia.  At 56yo he has been on the decline with dementia for over three years already, and the decline is only speeding up.  

For a healthy person my dad has had a horrible bill of health. He had cancer in his thirties and within the two years after surviving that he had two strokes.  These two strokes may or may not be related to his current condition.  The jury is out on that one.  So the heart and stroke foundation is near to my heart and I am proud to fundraising for them this year.  It just does not seem fair for one person to have to endure all of that in a lifetime.  But he maintains a happy outlook and tries to enjoy life. 

Last year I fund raised for the Alzheimer’s Society as I trained to run the Boston Marathon and was overwhelmed by the generosity of people.  Although I will not be racing the 5k in June at the ride for heart run I am racing a marathon (Ottawa) the week before.  

This year I am excited to be an ambassador for the first heart & stroke run.  The run itself is going to absolutely epic it will take place on the gardiner expressway with the Toronto skyline as our back drop!  Even if you are not able to race that weekend come out and join us for a fun run, it is not every day you get to run on the gardiner expressway!!

I went to meet the ride for heart team and they were all so passionate about the cause.  It was hard not to be inspired!  The ride for heart run is going to be absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to be a part of the very first one.  You should join us!!
